Curacoa/Curacao?

Posted under Tags

The ship is "HMS Curacoa." I moved the posts to curacoa_(azur_lane) manually, though it might be prudent to put in an alias request too.

I imagine whoever was the first to use the tag didn't realize the spelling of the ship's name differed from the modern spelling of the Dutch island it was named after.

Edit: Actually, checking tag history it looks like the tag was originally correct but the spelling was changed by user #49091 in February. Certainly just an innocent mistake given said user's contribution history, but since this could happen again I'll put in an alias request.

I don't know, when I was uploading stuff earlier it was all correctly spelled even while I was slightly intoxicated... nanami went around changing them for some unknown reason.

"Curacao" (actually Curaçao) is the correct spelling of its namesake, the island country in the Carribean that is an offshore part of the Netherlands, hence the earlier edits. However, I have just checked and the historical light cruiser's name is indeed "Curacoa" (probably a historial mispelling on the Royal Navy's part that somehow stuck across four ships). In any case, I apologize for the change.

(As an aside, the Japanese pronunciation does match "Curacao," even with the historical cruiser, which is somewhat puzzling.)
