For better or for worse, 15 of those posts aren't tagged with mouth_full but the pool name + description don't seem to correlate with the contents at all.

For better or for worse, the pool has 104 posts but the tag combination in that search yields only 56 posts. This probably means some tag gardening is required.

The same user has created four pools in total, one simply duplicating the content of the above. Both of those have been deleted, I see, but I suspect the other two others (pool #14874 and pool #14875) are similarly unnecessary by the site's standards.

No. The posts still belong together, even if they’re deleted, and they might be undeleted at some point. Some users also like to browse deleted posts.
I guess if someone pools their MS Paint-level self uploads in a “look at ma art!!1” pool, it can be deleted along with the posts.
