[REJECTED] Tag alias: woodland_pattern -> m81_woodland_(camo)

Posted under Tags

The wiki seems to say they are synonymous, though I'd worry that other similar patterns could conceivably fall under the description "woodland_pattern" too and get mis-aliased here. If we do this, it ought to be reversed. No one is going to be able to accurately distinguish between the American pattern and similar patterns from other armies. While we're at it, it might be good to change the tag to woodland_pattern_(camo), as well to disambiguate and make sure it doesn't get misused for a forest pattern in some other context.

As I replied in topic #15753 I personally think it best to do away with tagging particular patterns in favour of generalized camouflage tags that refer to the environment it's supposed to be used in, i.e. something like woodland camouflage, desert camouflage, tropical camouflage, arctic camouflage and urban camouflage. Which would get rid of a significant amount of very specialized tags and make looking up camouflage accessible to people who are not entirely versed in specific real-world camouflage pattern names and such.
