Plural to Singular alias request thread

Reason: To alias gears to gear, i have to remove the previous aliases.

Gear vs gears was discussed in topic #2753. We went with gears because it's a natural plural (like shoes) and because gear is slightly ambiguous (it can mean also equipment, as in headgear).

One thing to note though is that roman numerals are most commonly seen with clocks and thus have an association with time. This has continued even with images on danbooru and as such more than half of the current tagged images depicting roman numerals are of clock faces depicting them in plural.

I see. But maybe in images like post #4261847 (with a single Roman numeral) it's best to use singular anyway?

The plural might be OK for clock images (there are multiple Roman numerals in the same image, after all). But in my opinion, it seems a bit weird to use plural in cases with really a single Roman numeral.

I don't think it makes a huge difference. Number is often more than one numeral too.
