Upload 44.6MB image (Pokémon GS beta)

We have post #3145835 about the pokemon_gs_beta. It's actually an image sample, so I attempted to upload the full image post today:

Apparently Danbooru won't allow this image to be uploaded because it's too large. The error message includes this: "An error occurred: error: Downloads::File::Error - File is too large (max size: 36700160)"

Should we just keep the image sample then, or can the full image still be uploaded by lifting the limit like in the topic #14647 for long animations?

(I noticed we have a very small number of 40MB+ static images: filesize:>40mb -animated. The post #469971 is the largest active static image with 57.3 MB; post #510341 is the largest deleted static image with 101 MB.)

Yeah those are from before the limit was added I think. That picture's a PNG, have you tried optimizing it to see if that reduces the file size?

Without objecting personally, I imagine the site work be rather slow for those outside South Korea if most images reach that weight...

@Danielx21 this is a pixel-identical version of your picture but only weighting ~6 MB, created through pngcrush. I'd just upload this version, since it's better than not uploading it at all.

No, I haven't tried that. To be honest, I don't have any experience with optimizing images yet.

Looks great to me. The original 44.6MB image could be slow for some people to download, so I guess the optimized image as you described is even better than the original. That's my opinion at least.
