Fits under danbooru's definition of arms up.
That said, this, like the arms behind head thing that came up last year, has issues when you come to images of characters who are not upright - for instance a character on all fours, propped up with their elbows but with their hands above their head would logically justify this tag, but I doubt anyone would consider that to be arms up.
Looking at the tag uses, though, does this need to exist at all? There's no singular version, and almost all the tag's current uses would fit nicely under arms up, sometimes better than they do under this tag.

I can't speak for anyone else,but I can say that I would. If the arms are up they are up no matter if you are lying or o your knees.

Ah, thats the tag I was thinking of. +1 to alias then as hands on own head covers what ever hands above head dosnt.
hands on own head requires the hands to actually be touching the head.
Still a very definite -1 to this from me.

The arms are not above the head in that image, but if it was then it wouldn't really be tag worthy. What I mean is, if the head was placed in the owners own lap, should a head on own lap exist? Or knee above own head in the case of where the head is on the ground but the body is still standing?
An alias is better than a bulk update if every case that will ever come up that someone could think to tag with hands above head should use arms up instead, which is clearly not the situation here.
A bulk update is better for situations where every use the tag currently has should be the other instead, as is the case in this situation.

How is that not the situation here? What are you talking about? There is literally no situation in any image or situation presented here so far that would even suggest there could be a situation where hands above head would not mean that the arms were up.

Yes, but this is literally not the case here. There is NO situation where arms above head would not be tagged with arms up.
We've had 3 described on this thread already. You repeatedly claiming that we haven't doesn't change that.
Arms up is not meant to be used when the upper arms are pointing downwards. Stuff like the aforementioned post #2810478 could arguably be hands up (although I'd be very hesitant to use this as well) but not arms up - and the two tags are mutually exclusive. Likewise with the situation I described earlier. If you would tag such images with arms up then you are doing it wrong.
