Twitter-only artist and Danbooru Bookmarklet

I'm trying to use the Danbooru Bookmarklet to upload but it only works if the URL is https://pbs.twimg.com/media/C2uQastUQAE5nyc.jpg, which is a direct link that is highly discouraged.

When I use a correct URL like https://twitter.com/GK0322/status/822919207889281026 nothing happens

The twitter upload guide specifically states this is a big no no, so I'm confused as to what I am doing wrong for the bookmark to only function for the inappropriate URL.

The Batch Bookmarklet doesn't do anything when I'm in https://twitter.com/GK0322/media either, same confusion there.

Any help or advice is appreciated.

Single image sources should work fine, that's weird. Still, if it doesn't work just upload with the pbs.twimg link and replace it after you upload. That's what I've done for many years.

Are you using Firefox?

Oh, I forgot, I'm using Waterfox (Gecko -based alternative to Mozilla's Firefox).

+With NoScript and stuff, although there's no change when I turn all that off.

Guess I'll try a different browser?

The bookmarklet doesn't work with Twitter in Firefox without an extension. You can still upload without the bookmarklet by putting https://twitter.com/GK0322/status/822919207889281026 (not the https://pbs.twimg.com link) in the source field on the upload page. This is the preferred way to upload when not using the bookmarklet, because then Danbooru will automatically grab the right image and fix the source for you.

If you are on firefox you have to use https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/bookmarklets-context-menu/ as pointed out in issue #3218.

You can also use the source: metatag in the tag panel on upload to change the source to what you prefer (like "source:https://twitter.com/GK0322/status/822919207889281026"), though that's a longer and annoying process.
