Commonly misused tags

Don't forget about the possibility of futas when it comes to that.

I guess if you only see a penis then it's safe to assume it belongs to a male, though.
Futas have more requirements to be tagged as such.

Looks like there is some objection to this. I'd say yes, because we can't tag those as solo images.
But what would be the counter reason besides the Futa argument?

If we only see the penis I tend to avoid tagging them as 1boy but I'd never tag those images as solo, if you see a bit of the crotch though I always tag it using the argument that if it was a futa the artist would draw the whole character instead since you wouldn't have a futa character just to see the penis.

I've also noticed a several people tagging kurumizawa_satanichia_mcdowell with short hair when her hairstyle is impossible without hair of the sort of length shown in post #2642638.

That said, I'm not sure this sort of thing is common enough to warrant a mention, though.

I personally tag hair length based on the visible length rather than the implied length. Yes, she needs to have long hair to have her hair in rings like that, but her hairstyle does not go past the shoulders. The same way you would tag someone with a short folded hairstyle (office lady/strictarian) or hair buns (saber) with short hair. Tag what you see vs implied, really.

I am of the opinion that it's best to just ignore hair that's in hair rings, folded ponytail, crown braid, hair bun etc. for hair length tagging purposes. I'd rather see a catchall tag created for all of these than people treating them as short hair

Particularly with the last one of those there's often no way of knowing how long the hair actually is, and adopting the approach that they all count as short hair would just result in the short hair with long locks tag* being completely drowned in tens of thousands of pictures like post #2880892 with long hair which is mostly but not all tied up in one of these styles - adopting the "ignore the tied up parts" approach, this counts as long hair instead, which is what it is tagged with.

*edit: yes I know the wiki for this tag specifically states that the hair should be unbound. I'm stating that the logic of "tied up hair = short hair" would suggest that this tag should be used for these cases.

This.
Just this.

It feels weird for me to tag such hairstyles, and some forms of twintails, with short hair since it's not really short in length just not reaching the shoulders, not sure if creating a tag like long hair up or anything would be better to solve this problem.

How about merging kittysuit and playboy_bunny_leotard with bunnysuit? Even with the specific tags, some users still tend to tag bunnysuit (with its unique design and all) together with cat ears or other animal ears or as just a plain leotard.

Cases where characters in non-bunny bunnysuits are with characters in standard bunnysuits happen often enough that it's beneficial for the tags to remain completely separate. I'm OK with renaming playboy_bunny_leotard to something else if need be, but the concept really needs to remain as it is difficult to search otherwise. But the discussion should probably continue in a different thread, by reviving topic #5417 or topic #12124, or a new thread citing them.

According to the wiki for black_wings it's supposed to be used for black feathered wings but I see it tagged on demon/bat wings a lot.
Also, I think it's the only colored_wings tag that specifies it should be used for feathered wings.

Are there examples of black wings that are neither feathered nor demon/bat wings? Saying they have to be feathered seems like it could be too restrictive when you could just add feathered wings on top of it.
