Noticed the diadem tag when ark_royal_(kantai_colletion) was introduced.
But I also noticed that the same character also receives the tiara very often.
Reading through both wikis, there is not much difference, if at all.
On top of that, there are a lot identical looking "hairbands", but tagged with a different tag:

post #2824396 is tagged with tiara
And those are only some examples. So it seems to me that the usage isn't quite clear of those tags and having both seems to cause some tag noise. There is also not really a difference between the two tags, despite the wiki saying that a diadem has more jewelry. I'd still say, because of the unclear usage of the tags, that one tag should be aliased to the other one.
And tiara has a larger tagcount, so I went that way.

Even Wikipedia seems to have difficulty telling the difference between the two. However a diadem needs to go all the way around like a circlet. (Which would be a better alias although much cleaning of the tag needs to be done first.)

You noticed the same as me. I actually tried to differentiate the two because of that in the wiki, but I don't see much real difference. I would agree to your proposal.

Diadem is presently saturated with both circlets and tiaras, so a straight alias won't work either way, as @ion288 stated.

Also, there are quite a few ornamental headbands tagged this way that look more like jewelry than any type of crown. For example: post #2268640, post #2299005, post #2319398, post #2682927. I don't know of a better way to tag these, since unfortunately there doesn't appear to be a simple English word for jewelry of this type. The closest tag I know of, headpiece, is incredibly vague and dominated by Fate characters' headgear which looks completely different. As an alternative, I'd like to propose forehead chain, which yields satisfactory results on Google Images and is consistent with both belly chain and forehead jewel.
