I see user #509825 removing solo from multiple_views, and I see that Apollyon wrote that it shouldn't be used but I couldn't find discussion on it, and I don't think it is blatantly obvious that you can't have them on the same image.

IIRC, solo strictly used when a character is the only living creature on the said picture, no matter if it's a full body, upper body or something else. Multiple views, like the name implies, means that several living bodies are present in one picture, even though that the character is the same.
The intent behind the solo tag is to find pictures with a single instance of a character. Since multiple views has multiple instances of a character (albeit from different views and perhaps even the same moment in time), it doesn't count

Should solo also be removed from comic posts if the single character appears in more than one panel?
Yes... I'd say so. In fact, tagging solo on comic posts seems a bit.. wrong to me. Does anyone else think so?
When I think of solo, I think of it having a single composition, and unless it is a 1koma it'll most likely have multiple compositions.
I think there are exceptions to the rule, like in the case of a single page spread where only one character is shown, even with speech bubbles present. I still think this applies even with a second panel with no one in it.
That's just how I use it though, but I don't think it exactly plays contrary to the current use of the tag.

Think in that case, such a picture might just use 1girl or 1boy without the solo tag?
WTF
solo should be removed ONLY in instances of multiple persona - it's the only character on-screen.
You can't use solo_focus, and you can't use multiple girls/multiple boys -> therefore, it is solo!
Agree with evazion here. If the tag were as Kikimaru described, then there would be no need for a solo tag, as using -multiple_persona would suffice.
