Brought up in topic #9127/p167.
I asked Type-kun about this idea a few months ago, and he OK'd it as long as it remains Danbooru-related. Basically, the idea is to provide a forum for veterans and novices alike to ask questions and get answers for all programming tasks directly and indirectly related to Danbooru. This would include how to use the API of Danbooru, Pixiv, Twitter, etc, as well as other related tasks such as handling JSON, XML, HTML scraping, REGEXes, HTTP, image downloading, etc.
First off, this would provide a channel for veteran users to help out and assist novice users that don’t quite know how to get started. Also, since different veterans would be specialized in different languages, this would make it much more likely to get an answer if a question were ever language dependent.
Additionally, I’ve had to figure out how to do various tasks on my own, and I’m sure others have as well. Being able to communicate with other veterans in an open forum like this could facilitate a quicker resolution to any programming task, as well as leave those solutions in the thread for others to reference and/or use at a later date. I look at it similarly to the "How do I tag this?" thread (topic #12251). Also, if somebody figures out some novel task and wants to share, they can do that similar to the "Custom CSS" thread (topic #9662).
