loli/shota posts have always been blocked for non-Gold users, see topic #4788. The only thing that has changed is that you now get a notice when a search contains such posts so that you're aware that some results are missing. This came out of topic #13828.

Okay....but, I gotta ask, how is this legal? danbooru is setting up a paywall (regardless of content) for content that *doesn't belong to anyone here.* Because we're not allowed to upload our own stuff lol. Well, not *really* but it's one of those "unwritten" rules - nobody actually uploads their own stuff here - those who do find it swiftly (as in 3 days) rejected/deleted. And I've been seeing this message on one of the quieter tags I follow for a hell of a lot longer than that.
Does that mean someone uploaded their own work that DIDN'T get rejected? When was the last time this actually happened *outside* of those two tags?
If I were to pay up $20, whose work would I be seeing? Somebody's on pixiv? Or from someone here? Even that I don't know because it's blocked.

Perhaps the message should be clarified that Member-level users cannot see said post(s) to avoid people thinking they're required to donate. That topic makes it pretty clear that the donation is considered an alternative rather than incentivised over a promotion for contributing to the site.

Ugh, this whole thing just kind of smells unscrupulous for me and I hope it can be clarified.

It was one of the threads that was unstickied and instead given a link in the "Useful threads index" (topic #8235), in order to reduce the number of stickied threads.
And to be fair, there's nothing I thought useful to contribute. This user should be well in the know-how for why loli and shota content is blocked to regular users. After all, MikeTheV was promoted to builder in the past.
Of course, if this is about contribution, then that's totally fine. My account was member-level for a long time before I decided to start contributing. It never came across my mind to get promoted straight to Builder in November (since I thought of buying Platinum membership at some moments).
Aside that, though, I do think we need more Builders/Contributors. Getting promoted for incentive is fine, but it shouldn't be the only thing. In my view, Builder is a title of merit -- we are expected (or should be) to uphold standards for uploading, tagging, and editing.
Ultimately iirc, this user failed to do that, and that's why he was banned. That's beside the point if we're not having a discussion about that anymore, however.

Which is kinda strange considering you've been here for quite a few years, as a builder, under the name MikeTheV. Everybody can even see it in your user records. Did the ban wipe out your memories as well? Cut the crap, will you.
