Sometimes when you upload certain images, you want to also know if/when others comment on them, but right now there doesn't seem to be such a function to subscribe to image comments, unless there's something I'm missing. And manually checking uploads for comments gets tedious fast, especially if you have a lot. I know it's been done on other places like Derpibooru; any way we could get such a function too?
I just use user:Mikaeri order:comment to see who comments on my images. Dunno if that'll work for you, but I think it's useful enough.
Or you can go to the comments search, and enter "user:MaxAndEmilytate" in "tags" field. The result is handy enough and can be bookmarked.

Huh, the more you know. Been here a while and didn't even know that was possible. Is this actually explained clearly anywhere here?

Using "@username" in a comment of in a forum post will notify the user via PM. Check this: @MaxAndEmilytate
That's for when someone really wants your attention though, and I think it's better than having it automatically for all comments.

Same, but use "comm:MaxAndEmilytate" instead of "user:MaxAndEmilytate". I actually have that one bookmarked and check it sometimes.
Is any of this actually documented? Would have been helpful to have an easy reference.

I think there's still a valid feature request here. I check user:☆♪ order:comment, noteupdater:☆♪ order:comment and commenter:☆♪ order:comment regularly to see comments that might be directed at or of interest to me. I'd prefer to search ~user:☆♪ ~noteupdater:☆♪ ~commenter:☆♪ order:comment but that doesn't work because you can't OR metatags, as far as I can tell. I'd definitely like a feature that gives me that feed in one place.

According to issue #2861, adding OR support to metatags would require an update of Danbooru to Rails 5, a potentially difficult process.
It's not a direct corollary, but saved searches could be used to accomplish the above. Just create a saved searches category and add the three aforementioned searches to it.
Example:
As a side note, issue #2672 would ultimately resolve all of the above.

Hmm, this almost works, but the order doesn't interleave properly. It works if I add an order:comment again on top of it, but then if I try to save that, it comes up empty when I try to access it as a saved search. I guess I can still do it with a bookmark or something and it'll be less trouble than what I do now, so thanks!
