A reminder, you can always appeal a post via the appeal button or in the deletion appeal thread any time once. I can't approve the image again so it's up to whoever with approval powers else would want to that hasn't already tried to approve it before.

Off course you can approve the image again in theory, and other Janitors were doing this. Example would be post #2518115 which was approved two times by PhoenixG.
The question is: Should a Janitor be allowed to do this?
I'd be resurrecting that topic to complain about that or posting on the Flag Vandalism topic about the issue rather than telling someone to approve it again. We may need to set anithee few lines in the flagging popup about the matter.
Why? It is not like it is vandalism to flag a post multiple times, because flags are coming from multiple users and you can only flag once. That is dangerous. Or would you the thing done with post #574061 flag vandalism?

I'd suggest that "video games are not a valid flagging reason" be added to the Flagging wiki entry and maybe the popup, since Albert declared the subject matter OK for future instances. In this case, this is a matter for the deletion appeal thread.

It is as valid as "western vs. japanese" art style. Like I said: It is a spongy subject. If someone think it is ok to have it here, then let them. If someone thinks it doesn't belong here, let it flag. And right now the concensus is that it should be deleted.
It probably should be left to a case-by-case basis, I think. If we summarily make western video game art acceptable, then we have to set standards for them -- some of which can be incredibly vague/unclear depending on the janitor+. It also sets the precedence that western art is acceptable by a larger margin than previously thought on a largely anime-style artwork based imageboard such as this one.
I'm of the opinion that some western art is acceptable here given the quality and content of the work, but if even one or two users are insistent on believing something is off-topic and they're not breaking any rules, then we'll just have to let it be. That's how the system works. After all, there are other booru-style imageboards out there that do accept western art or even make it a main focus.
It's slippery ground to tread if we just suddenly add that to the flag notice/howto:flag page.

Yes. Albert also said to me once that the rules for flagging are pretty spongy intentionally. And I guess that is because of such topics with western art.
But what could be included, and that is flag vandalism: Flagging an artist because of art style. And because of that, it is good that flagging is limited to ten post per day. I mean, flagging an image once is ok. but if flags are not succesful and if you want to get rid of an artist's style, then it is better to stop flagging. Otherwise it will be considered as vandalism.
Appealing it any more won't do anything at this point. Those that can approve it have already decided on it, or have given up given the constant flags that particular post draws.
The math on this one is really quite simple... there are only ~60 people that can approve a post, and ~500,000 that can flag a post.
Basically, that image is too controversial and polarizing to exist on this site IMHO... It would take an Admin status locking that post to keep it active on this site, which I'm not sure any of them are willing to do...
true that...last time I asked for an admins help he just straight up threatened me with a ban...and then afterwards when I apologized for something I didn't do and in turn asked him to apologize to me for his rushed decisions & needless threats...he just answers me with "last warning or else"...then when I sent him a message to at least fess up for his mistakes...he just blesses me with awkward silence...needless to say the new level of authority that type-kun has gained recently has definitely gone straight to his head...someone as hot-headed as that sure as hell is not fit for that rank of authority...I'd bump him back down to platinum if I was albert...too bad I can't speak to him about it.
All of your posts have been laced with condescension thick enough to cut with a knife. The fact that Type hasn't yet dropped a ban on your head is testament to his patience.
maybe if you tried looking at things less negatively and instead more positively...you'd realize that I am not the asshole you think I am and within realizing so you'll also realize that you have a very poor judge of character...I admit I'm not the best at making a first impression...but in the long run I've been known to be quite a nice guy apparently according to those who I am now friends with and those of which have a brighter view on things in life...sorry if my way of communication does not level with your standards.

@tapnek ooooh if only my tone of voice could by some way be posted with each comment I type on the internet, then maybe people wouldn't misjudge what I say so quickly and without thinking and/or without a sense of empathy...also nice use of my name in the feedback there tapnek...but seems as you think so highly of me...allow me to throw foal on that fire your making...at least my name is more creative and more easier to pronounce, AND actually has...you know...a meaning.
