Grouping any multicolored types of clothing under multicolored clothes as an umbrella tag. Yes, a lot of these tags are underpopulated, but I intend to get around to that once I finish working on the bodysuit color tags.

Also adding multicolored subset to each main article of clothing that doesn't have an existing implication. Multicolored bodysuit -> bodysuit implication request already exists in forum #122248.

I was unsure of implying raglan sleeves -> multicolored shirt, so I left that alone for now.
EDIT: That implication will not be included due to the guidelines I wrote in multicolored clothes' wiki.

+1 to these implications.

Having said that, I want to use this opportunity to nail down a solid definition for "multicolored". "Two or more visible colors" would include everything that isn't a solid color, which would water down the tag to where it no longer means anything.

Here are my thoughts on this:

• Any use of greyscale (i.e. black -> grey -> white) is a null color no matter how many shades are used, and can go with any other hue without making it "multicolored"
• Any shade of the same hue for other colors wouldn't make it multicolored, no matter how many shades are used (e.g. pink -> red -> dark red)
• Any type of different hued trimming would not make it multicolored, i.e. it has to be part of the main pattern
• Any type of print_* object would not make it multicolored

Examples:

• striped
• Non-multicolored: white and blue stripes
• Multicolored: orange and blue stripes
• plaid
• Non-multicolored: black, dark red and red patterned
• Multicolored: black, dark red, red, dark blue, blue patterned
• Checkered
• Non-multicolored: black and blue checkered
• Multicolored: red and blue checkered

Thoughts?

I can tighten the related multicolored wikis to include these points. You have a point that just using any two colors on any article of clothing would drown out the purpose of the multicolored clothes umbrella. You want the clothes to be popping with colors, almost making it eligible for the colorful tag as well. That's partly why I left raglan sleeves off the list.

Some of these posts may need some cleaning up to fit with the guidelines that BrokenEagle pointed out. As long as existing posts that have null colors (white/grey/black) are cleaned up, then I see little reason not to reject the implication.

I have a question about the non-multicolored part: Do you want to create a tag "non-multicolored"? I think not, since simply striped_legwear without the corresponding multicolored tag is non-multicolored.
See shimakaze_(kantai_collection) with her red-white colored thighhighs.
So I'd say: black/white + color shouldn't be multicolored.

It was only there for demonstration purposes. There of course should not be a "non-multicolored" tag.

I've been working on the main multicolored clothes wiki to reflect the definition that 2+ colors are supposed to be unusual and vibrant, like the Uncommonly-Styled Legwear pool. However, that means I need to go in and garden a hell of a lot of posts that are tagged wrong, especially when there are null colors involved, if we're to avoid the umbrella tag being used incorrectly in the future.

However, your point made me think, do we want a "solid_color" tag? As a point of similarity, we do have the simple background tag...

As in solid color clothing opposing multicolored clothing? Don't the colored subsets (red_scarf, red_pants, red_skirt, etc.) already exist for that purpose? Or are they too vague, and thus we need to tag all solid colored items like shirts, bodysuits, bras and so on? I find it a little impractical considering that ordinary clothes can come in all kinds of typical colors and designs. That's the other reason I left raglan sleeves alone - the common colors would drown out the vibrant ones. I was hoping for multicolored_clothing to function as a way to group together the unusual designs and separate them from the common designs.

Quick question to BrokenEagle.

If black/grey/white are considered null colors, then what would happen if they are used as part of a set of three colors, like post #1949102? All of the colors are evenly distributed throughout the design, so wouldn't that be multicolored despite there being black? I want to make sure of this so we don't get swarmed with Clownpiece posts.

I tag striped clothing with a single color plus white/black/grey with the single color. E.g. blue_panties striped_panties. I do the same with other patterns, e.g. plaid and checkered. Therefore, as it is now, it would be very difficult to find all solid-colored blue panties.

The one exception to the above is all greyscale colors. I consider white to be the ultimate null color, so E.g. black and white stripes I tag black, grey and white stripes I tag grey, and black and grey stripes I tag black.

There are two or more non-null hues used (red and blue), so yes for multicolored clothes, multicolored shirt, and multicolored_jacket. The thighhighs are pretty much solid colors, so no to them, although they could be tagged asymettrical legwear.

However, as I added that, I thought of a case where we might want to potentially add multicolored. For example, paw print but with a multi-hued pattern, e.g. brown, black and pink paw prints equally spread throughout the pattern.

This would make it align with argyle, striped, checkered and plaid patterns. So basically, repeated patterns of a particular print that follow the same rules as the other patterns, i.e. they need two non-null colored hues.

The best example I found was actually a background though. (post #2171242)

Basically, any repeating solid color/tone patterns would count the same as striped, plaid, checkered, and argyle. This could potentially include any of the *_prints, except for some such as flag print (since by default most flag prints are multicolored).

Also, while looking at posts for the above, I realized that the polka dot pattern was missing. (Ex: post #2108655)

I updated the multicolored clothes wiki to add polka dot patterns and explain the print clothes exception. It was a little tricky explaining the exception, so I'm hoping to find more examples to clarify things better.

You know, I was thinking. Shouldn't all of the material in multicolored clothes' wiki be moved to an all-encompassing multicolored tag instead? Not all multicolored items on Danbooru are clothes. There are things like bows, the sky, hair, eyes, skin, stripes and so on. The clothes umbrella tag is really only handling items that people wear after all.

That could also apply to the print items from topic #13410, and the print tag is free after all...

Then should I add a multicolored_clothes -> multicolored implication to the list, and then include non-clothing items? That question also applies to the print BUR I made today.

But print sounds a little too ambiguous as a standalone tag. Wouldn't something like printed_design or print_design make it clearer? Print object exists at the moment as well.

As for the first item, I believe it is warranted. It can always be changed if necessary.

As for tags, print object would probably be the best IMO. The others sound like something officalesque and done by a professional designer.
