Overwatch character tags

Blizzard announced their new IP just a couple of days ago. http://us.battle.net/overwatch/en/

How should we go about tagging the characters? Most of them have a code name and real name, which do not seem to be spoilers. I'm in favor of going with the code name (with Overwatch qualifer) being aliased to real name. The exceptions would be Reaper, Winston and Bastion.

I'm REALLY not convinced there will be enough posts to require aliases but use the real name.

The bulk update request #416 has been rejected.

It's been forever but I feel like code name is better in this case after having researched the game to some degree (and it's closer to actual release.) Nobody really uses the real names so that's highly likely to cause confusion with no practical advantage.

Also the skullgirls flip where we went from real names to aliases.

In a similar vein, D.Va is Korean so the real name tag/alias should be song_hana.

Agree with real name->codename aliases rather than the other way around.

d.va is currently one of the most frequent missed searches. Is there a reason to have _(overwatch) when there's no other character with the same name?

But tbh I'd rather keep the qualifier, lots of searches probably from users who don't use autocorrect properly.

Well, the abs only has three letters, this one has four. So this can't be the right reason.

just dropping we also have the artist d_va that is potentially confusing.

bump for alternate skins.

Similar to LOL, we have a few named alternate skins for characters.

However unlike LOL, some of them are differently named despite just being alternate colors (e.g. Mercy's Devil Mercy/Imp Mercy skins).

Should they be aliased into 1 umbrella tag each?

Are there any other skins on the site aside from Mercy?

For the sake of searchability, similar skins should probably be merged to one tag.

There isn't much on this site next to Mercy.
For example: Only one b.va_overwatch image.
