I think you'd need a lot more evidence than that to make that change. That's just one snippet out of a much larger text, and the text being cited appears to confirm that officially in their world they recognize his name as "Felix Argyle", even if s/he prefers "Ferris". Furthermore Felix Argyle is written out as フェリックス・アーガイル (Ferikkusu Aagairu), which is what is used on the anime's official website and the Japanese wikipedia page. Ferris on the other hand is written out as フェリス (Ferisu).

I'm much more inclined to view that Ferris is nothing more than a nickname, instead of a name change because of gender changing.

If I may argue: "lightning_farron". Alright, I'll try to task myself with more concrete, Word-of-God sourcing when I've some free time on desktop.
