Would transformers fall under west for "east meets west"

While it is a western copyright transformers has that origin of being Japanese Diaclone toys that were given a rebranding for western release. Given their origins in the east despite their creation in the west, would they still count be able to count as east or west for "east meets west"?

It's a pool, so whether an image belongs in it is expected to be subjective.

I'd say Transformers qualify as "Western" because the original Japanese toy lines were discontinued in the mid-'80s and replaced by the Transformers rebranding in Japan. Diaclone was revived recently, but still, most Japanese people who know the characters probably know them from Transformers; they've existed for longer as Transformers in Japan than Diaclone ever did.

So post #2322348 and so forth fully belong in the pool. Remember that a Japanese character needs to be interacting with them, it's not just "Japanese artists drew a Western thing."
