"Resize to window" that zooms IN?

Posted under Bugs & Features

I don't know if it is supposed to work or a requested feature. Resize to window works nicely for zooming out from "absurdly high-res" images. But when narrow or low res images like comic strips, especially on high DPI screens, it would be nice if it was able to zoom in as well.

Apologize if this is not the correct way to discuss feature request or modifying existing features.

I think any browser is capable of doing this, the shortcut is usually ctrl + mousewheel-up. Resizing down to window can also be used as an automatic user option and doesn't affect image quality, unlike upscaling using CSS.

If you are on Windows you can set global DPI scaling settings if you're having trouble viewing things on high-DPI screens. Chrome also allows you to set a default zoom level which you can set higher than 100%.

Zooming in on low-res images would probably make them look lousy.

This is true below a certain PPI but in the case of high DPI screens, you get absurdly high PPI on some images so scaling up tends to look fine. Obviously everyone has their own preferences for PPI under which will start to look lousy, but OP specifically mentioned high-DPI screens which often present web-scaled images at an uncomfortably high PPI.
