When uploading, and post already exist...

When uploading, and post already exist...
would it be possible to get the post number? Or that would be too complicated? Too demanding for the system?

I'm asking this because I was going to upload some funny translated doujin of nanoha, and pool them, but they already exist somewhere. They are probably misstagged because I searched mostly every possibility with either monochrome, doujin or comics. And I don't really feel like checking all the 3500+ pictures of mahou shoujo lyrical nanoha

It should redirect you to the post in question. If you just get the "that post already exists" message, then that means the post was tagged "questionable".

Picture was perfectly safe, so I don't know why redirect won't work.

There are thousands of incorrectly rated posts from when danbooru was completely public, more than a few marked explicit and questionable are in fact not. We try to correct this whenever possible but with 131,955 posts it's probably not going to happen any time soon.

I see, I guess default checked choice for upload being "questionable" didn't help. Maybe same person uploaded them all and didn't bother changing it <.<

Edit: just tested uploading again one of safe pics I already uploaded, and it won't redirect even if it's safe

Redirecting only happens to privileged members and above. Why? I don't know, i guess its because uploading for non privileged members was just a hot fix or something :o

Redirect doesn't work because after you post, it still needs to get approved. You cannot see unapproved post if you're not a privileged member or above.

You should now be able to see the post/show page when you upload a duplicate.

Now if anyone with the power could check/correct which of them are safe it won't change the rating if I re-upload

Before even trying to upload the pic and waste your time with tags (if already exists), you could use the "md5:" tag.

Indeed, you need to be an accepted member to see the original post if it's not safe.
