Wait, on second thought, maybe the implications are a bad idea. I don't know much about the franchise overall, but it may be worthwhile to keep mahou_shoujo_taisen purely for characters that did get officially selected for inclusion in the franchise, and exclude unselected entries from the character design contests from the main franchise tag.
Removing implications from the request for now, discuss.
Someone who knows more about the series will need to do a bit of tag gardening to weed out the unselected entries, though.
