Setting rules in pools by yourself

I'm wondering if it is all right for random people to go ahead and add rules in pools. I did this for pool #2355, pool #1229, pool #7010, and pool #1096.

I'm just making sure that certain pools don't get filled with unfitting pics, but I still want to ask mods if this is okay.

In general, I'd say it's probably best to discuss them first, mainly to avoid flame wars. Why start one if you don't have to?

As for those three specific pools, the first two look good to me, but I'm iffy on the third.

The third one seems to overstep the initial reason of the pool, which is Kokoro having mask that are not her official ten.

The description does say "usually from other, non-Touhou, series" and the pool is "Otherworldly Masks". Letting a post with any kind of low quality doodle mask into the pool lowers the pool's quality overall. It might seem like it's overstepping the pool's purpose a little, but I think it's neccessary to close up an exploitable loophole.

I'm not sure it closes the loophole. Low quailty doodle masks could still be admitted, so long as they were doodles of real masks or masks from other series. The rule only prohibits original masks, regardless of their quality. To keep the pool free of doodle masks, maybe it would be more effective to require masks to have a certain level of detail.

Masks of random expressions that lack details and animal masks are too common and generic, so those aren't very fitting for the pool, or else it would be crowded with tons of pics by now and thus, like what Hoobajoob said, lower the quality of the pool.

Do you think there should be a rule for the Nostalgia pool regarding only posting images of things that are no longer relevant or used nowadays? I feel like people are throwing in pics about things they used or enjoyed as kids, even if those things are still relevant...
