The gun is an original design, but it is a bullpup assault rifle and the ammunition is polymer cartridges. We were conscious of creating a shape that would not get in the way even indoors, and would not be intimidating.

They don't. The halo turns off if the girl stops being conscious for any reason. If there were ever any doubts of this, the anime fully confirms it in the very first scene of Shiroko waking up in the morning.

Unfixed mistag I guess. Considering cat girl and cat boy are too far apart tagcount-wise, I think the uploader reflexively clicked cat girl after typing cat in the tagbox and didn't notice.
Or uploader didn't know whether the character depicted was a boy or a girl, which would be funny because the commentary explicitly mentions "Catboy".
