Going by the tags on the original Pixiv post and the artist's other works, this is meant to be a personification of the Nod Scorpion Tank from C&C Tiberium Wars. Those weird leg chitin bits I presume are supposed to be adapted from the vehicle's cockpit, while the rifle appears to be pased on the laser upgrade for the turret gun.

    Well, they were also the last man standing (as well as the flag tank) in the vs Keizoku match, so technically they were the overall commander of Ooarai for a period at least. They even outsmarted the discerning and intelligent Mika, who was the actual overall commander of Keizoku, and they did it, in their own words, with "strength".

    can you call them 'commander' when there's literally no one for them to command tho? XD

    Dungeon meshi mages are the ones that are canonically prone to being drug addicts and alcoholics. Especially those that use familiars.
    Drugs are quicker and more effective than meditation or other preparations before casting magic. I think that Marcille just braids her hair to meditate. It was in some of the author's blog comic panels
