西北望,射天狼 is a poetry phrase stemming from the works of Qu Yuan, a 3rd century BC Chinese poet. The full phrase is 会挽雕弓如满月,西北望,射天狼 which translates to "Pulling the (carved) bow like a full moon, looking westwards, shooting at Sirius". The original meaning means to punish corruption, but during the Jin Dynasty the Sirius star became associated with foreign invaders and by the time of the Song Dynasty this poem's meaning had changed to fighting foreign invaders.

"西北望, 射天狼" was written by Su Shi from Song Dynasty, 11th centery AD, although its orginal allusion is from Qu Yuan's work "长矢兮射天狼".

Removing the "flakpanzer gepard" tag and replacing it with "tor-m1" as the silhouette of the SPAA in the image is undoubtedly the latter, judging from the missile launch hatches placed at the front of the turret, the flat top and long frame of the hull and the positioning of the radar. The post is also tagged with "people's liberation army" and if I am to suspect that is accurate, then the usage of a Gepard is incorrect and they instead have their own alternative for the same task.

Do correct my edit if I am mistaken, thank you.

Is there a context as to why they're crying?

Probably due to everything they've been through between the Singularities and Lostbelts. Seeing Humanity wiped out twice over, watching friends die, the reality that in order to save their world they have to destroy others. Chaldea's final Master is not in a healthy state of mind at all and with all that in mind its not too surprising that they might cry themselves to sleep at night.

I find it amusing that Orfev didn't give a damn about Varia, but she is willing to ride on whatever Goldsi and Festa is cooking. Like bros in the hood.
