And they would be sharing the portrait, I think, as opposed to Yuuka solely holding it.

It's like a Mobius strip, where her "freaky"ness loops back and becomes cute. In universe she's probably one of the most intimidating students in Trinity. But at heart, she's just a normal girl that likes fighting and has difficulty expressing herself, and for me this struggle makes her endearing.
