I assume what happened is that Marisa took the final step to becoming a Magician, therefore becoming non-human and immortal. Cute story.

I am kinda baffled that there are a bunch of doujins where Marisa becomes a magician yet Reimu stubbornly keeps staying an useless human. Wonder if there is any doujin out there that fulfills my wish of seeing them both be immortalish and happy...
