Is this the first example of Akagiยฒ you've seen? I'm asking because the "War Diary" monologues are a bit of a running gag that Akagi-chan and Hiei-chan have indulged in. They're also historically accurate. Here's an example of Tirpitz's war diary:
Every ship for every navy had one that logged every pertinent detail of a mission, and they were the product of typewriters. Shipboard war diaries across nations were rather uniform, so I imagine this adherence to a universal legibility was intentional.
