Apparently it has to do with the other Hirasaka Makoto book this scene is referencing. (Mentioned in the afterword)
I don't think you're allowed to call black hair "exotic", Alice. You live in Japan now. Though it might be hard to tell from looking at Gensokyo hair colors.
The said cropped picture is actually an art trade with mixing artist (formerly on twitter, now on bluesky due to the "Supposed no way to opt out" ai training misinformation)
Ridiculous amounts of stretching in this post aside, the voice line addressing Ayaka is indeed so out of nowhere it's hard not to see it as intentional jab.
