There's a theory that the "kuta" part of "kutakake" (chicken) comes from the Ainu-Itak "kotan" [TL note: village]. If that's the case, then could Kutaka Niwatari, in the world of Touhou where ainu influence is thin, be connected to the ainu?

I asked for a second opinion on the matter from someone who actually lived in Japan and typically 3 or more candles is the most common and traditional way to do it, but some places like Gunma or Shiga prefecture have two.
