But isn't chocolate poisonous to doge too?

Chocolate (the theobromine it contains, specifically) is poisonous to literally everything. Humans and a handful of animal species are just able to break it down relatively safely. Realistically speaking, if any one race can't eat chocolate in Arknights, then almost none of them should be able to eat it.

they used egg based synthetic chocolate for lupine/perro and feline/aslans.

Is that mentioned somewhere? A mail gift event involving salted egg chocolate made some perro operators upset (but that honestly just seemed like a lazy localization joke). Is that maybe what you're thinking of?

Edit: Oh, and a sidenote for those who might not know, theobromine is only found in milk chocolate and dark chocolate. White chocolate doesn't contain any, and is safe for animals to eat. They even sell white chocolate pet treats.

I think mice are capable of breaking down a lot of chocolate when compared to their body mass and volume, but even then a small bar of chocolate will kill them. A lot of the chocolate poisoning in animals tends to happen in smaller pets or when a large quantity is consumed, certain breeds or certain large animals will be fine even if they consume an average bar of chocolate, but even then it's definitely not a good thing to encourage.

Yeah, body mass is a huge part to consider. A large dog won't die from eating a snickers bar, though it might have a bit of stomach trouble. That's why it's so silly when people act like a girl with dog ears will die if they so much as touched some chocolate, when even if they had the internal physiology of a canine and couldn't break it down like a human, their size would mean it probably wouldn't do more than make them feel a little sick.

I feel this would be closer to a WWII scenario than WWI, which didn't have the same size or formation of bombers.

The artist tagged it with WW1.
Besides the biplanes and extensive trenches on the ground make the WW1 inspiration very clear.

Please look up the following aircraft: Handly Page O/100, Handley Page O/400, Caproni Ca 3, Gotha G.IV, Friedrichshafen G.III, Zeppelin Staaken R.VI, Sikorsky Ilya Muromets

WW1 was the start of strategic bombing. WW2 didn't have biplane bombers.
