Besides the biplanes and extensive trenches on the ground make the WW1 inspiration very clear.

    Please look up the following aircraft: Handly Page O/100, Handley Page O/400, Caproni Ca 3, Gotha G.IV, Friedrichshafen G.III, Zeppelin Staaken R.VI, Sikorsky Ilya Muromets

    WW1 was the start of strategic bombing. WW2 didn't have biplane bombers.

    Seems to be an original character concept which is something this artist does a lot of? Bludgeon typically has way more green in his color scheme, plus the aircraft elements and that pirate cutlass don't line up with any of his existing designs.
