To be fair, the spongy ballsack is the best codpiece in the game. +99 defence against groinshots makes the Nutcrackerus much easier for casuals.

From my experience (I haven't played Rise and Wild) armor name in MH are "[monster] armor part", so if codpieces were a thing it would be called "Testicladong codpiece" which admittedly is a fitting name for a codpiece.
