Because it seems like the consistent principle being applied here is "anything that confirms the existence of trans women is noncanon, and also that Japan has no conception of trans people." Which, I'll reiterate, Japan has its own trans culture. This isn't a foreign culture polluting Japan; this is Japanese people coming to their own conclusions, and it turns out that when you let people do that, many of them will be transgender!

I find that a lot of times these types of rule 34 of characters with zero sexual features, are children oriented, or aren't even organic comes off less as actual thirst and more of an attempt to be edgy and contrarian.
But of course like other cases like mascot horror parodying kids media or the idea of evil Superman, at one point the edgy contrarianism is so overdone it's no longer surprising and it just becomes tiring and empty. It doesn't have anything to say beyond "haha I subvert your expectations".

Accepting everything you see is what causes not only brainrot but negligence of bad shit. Pretty sure people let Shadman do whatever. Look what happened.
Mental illness and "serious leves of emotional stress" is pretty common in fiction, but I think anxiety disorders specifically have been pretty rare until this year. Pomni, Kobeni, and Peppino from Pizza Tower all have very similar things going on with them, and I don't remember seeing that kind of thing... pretty much ever before 2023 (except for the Chainsawman manga).
If you or someone know of earlier depictions of this anxiety disorder in anime/gaming before than, please let me know though - I like these kind of characters and would also rather know if I'm wrong about this.
EDIT: forgot about Bocchi, she also fits into this category somewhat.
I really want to like these characters with the anxiety disorder, but they're annoying to deal for some people like me who don't have or have a low level of anxiety. I just can't stand seeing them being such cowards for almost the entire time. EDIT: Please stop downvoting me. I'm being honest. Not every person like these kind of characters.
