To be fair, the spongy ballsack is the best codpiece in the game.
+99 defence against groinshots makes the Nutcrackerus much easier for casuals.

I have never played a Monhun game, I have no idea what monhun gear stats look like.

That's not a piece of armor, that's literally it's ballsack.
In MonHun monsters, instead of dropping armor, drop materials which you can use to make armor and weapons.

Oh, I knew that much. I was implying that you could craft it into a codpiece with the same name.
Guess I didn't explain that very well, but I was trying to make the joke snappy rather than overly long winded.

From my experience (I haven't played Rise and Wild) armor name in MH are "[monster] armor part", so if codpieces were a thing it would be called "Testicladong codpiece" which admittedly is a fitting name for a codpiece.

It's a professional courtesy. Actors like having their roles appreciated, but not in the middle of their current one. There's also the possibility of legal troubles if they used a former role involving a character they technically don't own to generate clot for one that they do. Although I think there's alot of leeway for making such references, there's an unspoken line concerning directness and frequency.

Doki probably consulted a lawyer when making herself legally distinct from Selene.

I agree if it's meant for the professionalism, for the sake of maintaining immersion in portraying a character, and it would obviously be extremely unprofessional if they themselves come out "Oh I used to be XYZ from this agency! Sub to me now!".

That said, there is a time and place, and fans ARE NOT the talents, bound by any professionalism nor contracts. All of these talents KNOW most of their fans know who they used to be, but they also refer to their past lives in metaphors to maintain that immersion. Yes you're still supposed to be courteous and not bring it up right in their face, since that's part of helping them maintain the professional immersion of playing a character, and it's rude to compare if you like their previous persona more or less than their current one, but not being allowed to acknowledge it even in private spaces among fans is ridiculous, especially if you're using such flimsy excuse as "violation of privacy".

In dubt apply Kayfave and your favorite wrestler Dr Infernicus is a demon that cames from hell and not from Flint Michigan, and don't bother him for his previous life as Taquito Jr. Same here, if V-Tuber want a clear cut for past lifes, V-Tuber gets a clear cut, isn't rocket science.

Professionalism has nothing to do with this, it is a matter of basic empathy and decency. ALL people, regardless of status or fame, have a right to privacy. And all who want their privacy to be respected are obliged to extend that same respect to others. Privacy for me AND for thee. If, like the majority of humanity, you find the idea of complete strangers digging into your past for no good reason and tracking your movements disturbing, you are obliged to avoid doing that. Now, if you're touched enough in the head to see nothing wrong with being the protagonist of a Truman Show, then I suppose there's nothing that can stop you from treating others likewise. Just don't try to feign offence when the 90% of humanity that thinks otherwise calls you a creep for it.

Do white knights like you even know why talking about their pasts has been taboo for so long?

It's because when vtubing first started to get big, most of the talents didn't have a previous persona, or in some cases didn't even have a history of entertainment, meaning that if you dug into their past you were first and foremost going to find real identities and not "this stinky shark used to be a drunk cowboy". When certain clippers became hated by the community for making videos about vtuber pasts, it was because they were essentially legitimately doxxing people.

That's not really happening in this case, however. Talking about a graduated vtubers new indie persona is not doxxing, it is not an invasion of privacy, and 99% of them want you to know that's who they are, because they want their fans to know where to find them. Indies don't talk about their previous personas, besides allusions here and there, because of professionalism, corpos don't mention past personas because they're literally under contract not to, and fans don't bring it up explicitly when interacting with either of them out of respect.

None of those things apply in this space. No one is being hurt by pointing out where one can find a now "reincarnated" vtuber.

I'm sorry but this reeks of a combination of "people on the internet doesn't understand nuances" and "when in doubt, argue that the other person doesn't understand empathy, basic decency, or logic because strawmanning is the only argument you have".

No one's arguing against the importance of privacy, I'm arguing that knowing Nimi Nightmare and Ceres Fauna being the same person is not a breach of privacy because they are both public figures. I still do not know her real name, her real face, her real address, and I do not care to find out.
What you're arguing is like saying knowing Chris Pratt playing Mario and Star Lord is a breach of his personal privacy, especially because unlike Fauna/Nimi, we KNOW his real face and name.
Breach of privacy implies that the knowledge ought not to be known by the public, and that by knowing, the knowledge can bring harm. If knowing that Kson and Coco is the same person itself is a risk factor, care to explain why she still feels safe enough to stream with her real face revealed to her millions of fans?
Why would Vtubers still allude to their past lives all the time if not for the fact they KNOW it's an open secret?

Hell, if you think merely knowing is such a risk, why are you apparently okay with the hundreds of other images on this site that multiple Vtubers that are played by the same person?

Frankly there's a lot of doujins being uploaded that I don't find the time or energy to get around to even though I kind of want to, but I at least try to do one a week or so.

Using soulless AI to 'make' Ghibli inspired material is probably some of the biggest Missing The Goddamn Point it'd be almost laughable if these people didn't actually think they were Doing Something. AI Bros stay being pathetic.

Ganyu is 3000 yrs old and Xiao is 2000. Maybe do some research before you post your little trivia, Mr. Know-It-All.

Actually Iโ€™m pretty sure they are about the same age bc 3000 yrs is how long Ganyu has served Rex lapis while xiao only served 2000 years bc he was serving a different god before that

Over 2 years late to the convo but lore time:
Ganyu's among the adepti that have served Morax the longest. That means she was among the first to sign a contract with Rex Lapis, and the first of those contracts started 3,700 years ago when Liyue Harbor was founded. She was likely very young when she did, so her being ~3,700 years old would be just about right.

Xiao was saved by Rex Lapis from serving a mad god over 2,000 years ago. His exact age was unknown, but he was already an extremly fierce fighter back then, so we can assume him to be much older.

    In conclusion:
    Ganyu - ~3,700
    Xiao - way above 2,000
