One thing I love about Furina's role in "Reunion" is how that decoy drone tactic is something Western militaries use in real life. The U.N. coalition used it against Iraq during Operation Desert Storm, tricking the Iraqis into firing at the decoys and exposing their anti-air positions. Said positions would then be targeted by strike aircraft using HARMs (High-Speed Anti-Radiation Missiles), which lock onto the radar emissions coming from the AA units. Iraq had arguably the most heavily defended airspace in 1990, and thanks to this tactic (among others) it was utterly smashed.

It's stuff like this that really makes me love the Elemental Warfare series. And having Furina as a fighter pilot was such a treat.

To be honest, I'm among those who do not expect games or such to really be historically correct.
In the end, entertainment is entertainment. Expecting too much is just ridiculous.

And people would say whatever they want anyway. lol

The thing with KC is that despite not being an educational IP has managed to surprised the fandom with historical details that are even hard to find on the internet unless you search through books, a good example of that are how they reference Massachutssets' turrets having names and in KCAC uses identification stripes for the carrier planes.

This doesnt meant KC hasnt done "fuckups" like Colorado's gun barrels being too large or Rodney's guns having very wide muzzles but usually is because KC commits to make more historical references way more often they tend to get more errors as well.

If AL gets something wrong it really isnt a big deal to the history buffers of said fandom since even the devs said they want to distance themselves from relying too much on ww2 history as an inspiration, even the riggings barely resemble the irl warships they are mean to represent for the sake of having cooler designs than the grounded and militaristic vintage look KC has.
