People always downvote comments they don't think contribute to the site (not that I always agree with that). The added visibility of all bumped comments showing up in one stream probably contributes to that. Necrobump means to take a "dead" (very old post) and push it to the top of the comment stream, especially if the comment isn't relevant to the post itself and add meaningful conversation. There's a "no bump" checkbox to prevent things from getting bumped to the top where they will get all this attention. If you wanted to reach out to me, you could also have sent me a DM.
