Oh, that guy. I had forgotten about his ridiculous crash out over paid rewards. Why is he being labeled singularly responsible, though? Is it that negative record he got? Cause there was already a discussion on the matter going on when he made that post, which he participated in. Lots of people were in favor of banning paid rewards, myself included (though I don't entirely feel the same now). I always felt that accusation was hyperbolic and misplaced, but maybe more things happened behind the scenes that I wasn't privy to.
Edit: Oh my god just once can we not have the same approvers appealing/approving garbage for petty, piss taking reasons? How many times are they going to do this before they get banned?
All it would have taken was for one of those artists to look at the notification, realise what it meant, and make their own Tweet, which could easily have spread like wildfire. Throwing a grenade that turned out to be a dud is still attempted murder.
I agree. However, it does not excuse the poll that lead to this upload when that user was allowed back in several months ago. It creates unnecessary drama (however small it may be) and nobody gains something from it.
I agree. It was a stupid move. But people do stupid shit under such circumstances. And they've behaved mostly fine since coming back. If I remember right "just leaving" wasn't enough. Sometimes people just keep coming back even to their own detriment bisko
The fact that this happened because of a mental breakdown is frankly more concerning to me than if she were intending to sabotage the site. Even if she behaves herself afterwards, how can we be sure it won't happen again? And what kind of message does it send if we look the other way when such users blatantly evade bans?
As for the other user mentioned, while he was demoted, I agree he should've also been permabanned.
Edit: I take that last part back. I misremembered some things. I think a ban lasting a few months or so would've been reasonable given he was drama-stirring in the thread and being a massive hypocrite, but there doesn't seem to be any actual evidence he caused the increased restrictions on those posts, unlike this situation.
Sorry but I fail to see how a 0 follower Twitter account posting and rapidly deleting tweets at JP artists in English outside JP timezones is going to go viral. Iirc tweets starting with an @ (can't remember if these did) don't even show up on timelines, only in the mentioned user's notifications and the poster's "with replies" tab on their profile.

Personally I think a poll for moderation decisions like this is silly. It's just a popularity check. If nnt wanted to ban he could, if he thinks it's not worth it he can chose to continue not to.
Imo it's very poor style of the moderation doing that poll. I just let it stay by that.
You are vastly minimizing the damage this could have caused. Imagine one of those ten or so Tweets went viral, and got 100k likes. Imagine artists started sending DMCA requests to the site en masse. We could have lost tens of thousands of posts, all because of one user's lack of self control and abundance of stupidity. This is not something that should just be "forgiven", especially after a mere three months. I don't want to see hide nor hair of this user again.

The whole point of that outbreak was to get banned, not to actually cause harm (though to me without context that is what it looked like at first)

Can I get an additional reminder as to what incident you're referring to? I have a guess as to what "category of posts" you're talking about, but I don't recall that being a singular person's fault, or who it would have been.
Also reminder that a certain user didn't even get banned once for causing actual massive harm to the site getting a whole category of posts banned.

I'm surprised a poll was even made for this. Is that why I suddenly got redirected to a Discord invite page? I thought I misclicked or something.
What I don't get is why would you even do something like this? From what I could tell, you were a pretty solid user up until the initial ban. Why throw it all away?
Edit: Didn't realize there were mental issues involved. But I don't see how trying to get artists to DMCA their works isn't meant to be harmful to the site. There are plenty of other ways to get banned. Better yet, you can always just leave.
So did the mods know who this was the whole time? Was this a second chance situation like some users have gotten? Trying to sabotage the site seems like a step too far compared to others that got that mercy, imo.
Mods knew and did nothing, nnt claimed to be too distracted to ban or something.
Also reminder that a certain user didn't even get banned once for causing actual massive harm to the site getting a whole category of posts banned. But a few tweets caused by mental issues the user is being treated for, that were specifically meant for us to see and were deleted once we did and were seen by nobody else is way worse ig. The commentary leaves out that important detail. The whole point of that outbreak was to get banned, not to actually cause harm (though to me without context that is what it looked like at first)

They found out soon after I got promoted to Builder, or so I've heard. NNT said:
i actually wasnt aware of that when i made her builder because i was distracted, or i would've banned her
