white cane
A type of cane used by the blind to scan their surroundings for obstacles or orientation marks. As the name implies, they're typically white in color to stand out and signify the person is blind. These types of canes are typically not sturdy enough to support the weight of a person as they're intended to be lightly held and waved side-to-side to scan for obstacles.
