An Ultraman multimedia franchise developed by Bandai, starting during the early 90s in the late 'Wilderness Years', consisting of a gashapon toy line, a manga, an OVA, and a Game Boy game. The manga originally ran from 1993 to 1997, with the gashapon toy line outliving it, before being revived in 2014 with the new subtitle "Shinshou", lasting until 2020.
Compared to SD Gundam Gaiden generally, and Dragon Ball and Saint Seiya when discussing the manga and OVA generally, by fans, the main starring Ultras are generally referred to as "Fighters", distinguishing from their regular selves through their new attire, and have the ability to transform into "Super Fighters".
