toboggan
A simple sled that lacks runners or skis and uses a smooth bottom to slide over the snow. It is mostly commonly used today by children sledding downhill. Traditionally they're composed of thin wooden boards with one end of the sled curved up forming the front, which gives the sled looking from the side a sideways "J" appearance. Moderns ones are composed commonly made of plastic, wood, or aluminum and may lack the curled front.
