The second of the Major Arcana cards in a tarot deck.
In older tarot decks designed for card games, the High Priestess is La Papesse, a female pope. Occult tarot decks surround the High Priestess with esoteric symbolism; she wears a crown like that of the goddess Hathor, she sits between two pillars labeled B and J, she holds a book or scroll, and the moon is at her feet.
