taiyou (kancolle)
Kantai Collection's personification of the Japanese escort carrier Taiyou, designed by Shibafu. Her name means "goshawk", which was a prized bird of prey among the Edo-era Samurai class.
Appearance
See post #2711070 for Taiyou base form.
As Taiyou (but not Taiyou Kai), she is visually nearly identical to her unremodeled form, and has long dark brown hair in a folded ponytail held in place with a blue hair ribbon, and swept bangs. She has brown tareme-style eyes. Similar to Shibafu's fleet carriers, Kasuga Maru wears a white dougi top with a red hakama short skirt, and black [socks. On her left hand, she wears a thick falconry glove. Following further remodeling, she wears an olive dougi with a green hakama skirt, and in Kai-Ni, she wears a grey scarf.
Her rigging involves a flight deck strapped to her right arm, falconry-related steel cases strapped to her torso, and steel platform boots. In her Kai-Ni form, she also wears headphones with a radio tower on the right side, and her flight deck has a camouflage pattern.
For a brief rundown of her history, see Kasuga Maru.
