southern royal albatross
Latin: Diomedea epomophora
Together with the wandering albatross, which is nearly the same size, the Southern royal albatross is one of the largest species of albatross. Its wingspan is about 3m (9.8 feet).
Southern royal albatrosses breed on subantarctic Campbell Island, the Auckland Islands, Enderby Island, and the Otago Peninsula in New Zealand.
