shigofumi
Shigofumi (シゴフミ ~Stories of Last Letter~) is a series of 12 episodes fantasy anime directed by Tatsuo Satou, aired between January and March 2008. There's also a light novel of the same series, released before the anime in October 2006, but considered a consequent work, as the project of this anime has afore been commenced.
The story, as titled, focuses on supernatural events that occurs on many dead people who reached afterlife, which allow them to send something, mostly letters that contain unexpressed feeling when they were alive, to anyone in the living world via "shigofumi." Dead youths in uniform, each wielding an AI implemented staff as aid granter, are used in carrying tasks. To every individual carrier has their own specific area of work on the world but shares the same workplace when not out for delivering, in another realm called Shigo.
Fumika, a young early teenage girl and the female protagonist, takes part in the story as another carrier of shigofumi. She hides her past behind from her little society, but the only thing that remains obviously doubtful is her normally flowing age, which is supposed to stop when she died and became a shigofumi carrier, like every others.
