shenyang mandarin text
A dialect of Northeastern Mandarin Chinese spoken in and around Shenyang.
This dialect is characterized by the use of a much lower pitch for the first tone compared to Standard Mandarin. It also makes copious use of a single-word 咱 (zán, zá) as first-person singular pronoun in casual speech (very similar to Kansai dialect's uchi), unlike most other Chinese dialects where it functions more as a first-person collective pronoun (like Standard Japanese's uchi).
Shenyang Mandarin is often used in translations and fanworks to adapt Japanese Kansai dialect (analogous to Southern American English in English translations). Japanese characters who speak Kansai dialect are frequently depicted speaking Shenyang Mandarin in Chinese translations and fancomics.
