sharpe (series)
Sharpe was a British TV movie series based on the novels of the same name by Bernard Cornwell. It ran from 5 May 1993
to 9 November 2008 with a total of 16 episodes.
Set during the Napoleonic Wars, the series follows Englishman Richard Sharpe (played by Sean Bean), a sergeant in the 95th Rifles. After the saving the life of General Sir Arthur Wellesley, the future Duke of Wellington, from French Cavalrymen, Sharpe is promoted lieutenant and ordered by Sir Wellington to led a small special task force within the 95th Rifles.
Along with his second in command, Irishman Patrick Harper, Sharpe and his chosen men fight against the French throughout Europe while performing special missions for Wellington. Along the way, Sharpe also has to deal with enemies within the British Army, mostly jealous officers and arrogant nobles who despise Sharpe due to his lower background and jealously over Sharpe being a better soldier and leader than them.
