shamisen (suzumiya haruhi)

A calico cat who usually accompanies Kyon's little sister. The name, in turn, comes from the name of the Japanese traditional three-stringed guitar-like instrument which is usually played with a plectrum called a bachi. Traditionally, skins for shamisens were made using dog or cat skin, with cat skin favored for finer instruments.
