scruffing

A handling technique in which the loose skin on a cat's neck is grabbed. This is most commonly done by a mother cat as a means of carrying and transporting her kittens, but it is sometimes seen in other animals.

When done to human characters, this may refer to a character grabbing another character by the back or collar of their shirt and lifting them. In which case, consider using clothes grab and lifting person as well.
