The first main installment of the Ryuu ga Gotoku series.

After spending 10 years in prison for taking the fall of a murder committed by his best friend, former yakuza, Kiryu Kazuma tries to investigate the events that transpired while he was absent. While investigating, he meets allies such as police detective, Date Makoto and a child linked to one of Kiryuu's childhood friends, Sawamura Haruka.

Received a remake in 2016 in the Ryuu ga Gotoku 0 engine, titled Ryuu ga Gotoku Kiwami.
